Introducing the Work of Eleanor Grosch!
We are thrilled to add the work of Eleanor Grosch to our line-up of limited edition and open edition prints! Eleanor, working out of her Philadelphia studio, is making quite an impression with her wildlife designs. Charley was a strong influence and one look at Eleanor's work will make that evident. Eleanor's designs exhibit a style all her own, yet the simplicity of shapes and minimalist features are reminiscent of Charley's work. You can see Eleanor's beautiful wildlife designs here. Unless otherwise noted, Eleanor's work is signed and numbered. All prints are hand-pulled by Eleanor! (Sept 09)
New Harper Release!
The fall lineup of new Harper releases is out! Leading the way is a print which is no less than spectacular! Tree of Life is a print based on the mixed media collage by Charles Harper and which first appeared in the Golden Book of Biology, in the 1960's. In this work, you can see how Charley worked in mixed media to create his masterpieces. Individual elements were created, then manipulated separately, within the composition, until Charley was happy with the arrangement. This allowed him to easily experiment with not only his artwork, but composition as well. The limited edition giclee print is a very generous 21" x 24", on a 25" x 28" sheet of heavy watercolor paper. A very limited number of Artist's Proofs are available along with the limited release of 350 prints. You can get your copy on our Giclee page.

2010 Calendars are Here
This year's wall calendars are here and they are fabulous! These large wall calendars (13" x 24",when open) feature some of Charley's best images. included in this year's calendar release are: B-r-r-r-r-rthday, Eastern Kingbirds, Clair de Loon, Red-eyed Vireos, Birdfeeders, Dolfun, Watermelon Moon, Limp on a Limb, Serengeti Spaghetti, Snowy Egret, Shadow Dancers (Water Striders), and Redwinged Blackbirds. Trove of Original Harper Paintings Found!!!
The news of the summer (perhaps the decade!) was undoubtably the relocating of a trove of original works by Charley Harper. These original paintings date from Charley's work at Ford Times magazine. Charley produced images for the magazine for over 50 years. His work comprised well over a hundred original paintings and 30 covers for the magazine. The rediscovery of the original paintings was a welcome surprise. Most of this art has not been seen by the public, unless they were readers of Ford Times magazine (now defunct.) This summer, these original works are being displayed at selected locations around the country. If you can't make one of the showings, then you are still in luck.
